winterweight solution with codes reminiscent of us military ecwcs level 7 parkas. the grey side features a cotton / nylon blend with a dense weave and slight sheen that dusts off with ease, while the waffled black reverse side is cut from polyester with a slightly sueded hand that hugs the body for structure when layered. the double side pockets on the main side offer exceptional utility for storage as well as keeping the hands warm, and changes the silhouette depending on where the hands are placed in. the scooped back hem creates a very nice line when viewed from the sides and ensures extra warmth and protection in cold weather. down items were not commonly issued from y's for men (the first ever were released for a/w 01, some 22 years after launch) so this is a great example of the merit of items from the a.a.r line which were intended to provide more casual and contemporary wear for a broader age group - specifically young professionals. recommended for medium and up.
