a predecessor to the trench coat, the pre-ww1 tielocken is characterized by its adjustable belt which, as the name suggests, ties and locks the wearer in for unmatched security and warmth. an early 00s masterpiece from the highly sought after red label of y's for men, this coat features a large removable hood that envelopes the entire head and then some for exceptional protection against the elements. the leather buckled belt is affixed to the rear left side seam, and threads into a concealed opening at the opposite side and is can be secured with an internal buckles on either side. while the default is to let it hang at the back, it can be configured in many different ways to control and restrain the dramatic volume of the body. combined with the variety of ways to button the double breasted front / reefer collar, this is a surprisingly versatile piece of timeless and reliable winterwear in a very rare color. the cotton twill used for the lining is also of exceptional quality and compliments the color and weight of the main body nicely. recommended for size medium and up.
