standout piece of fall outerwear from the final era of y's for men. every possible aspect of the construction has been considered and designed without compromise, which is something you simply will not find in the mainstream fashion market today. its stern military appearance is subdued by the soft fabric which drapes with ease for an exceptional, lived in sensibility. outstanding cut that is defined by the collar, then follows the slightly structured shoulder line to drop down into a perfectly articulated sleeve. the convertible reefer collar allows for many ways to style, anchored by a large hook clasp and complete with beautiful reinforcement stitching at the stand and facing. the removable storm guard is complete with a metal buckle and eyelets to frame the neck and head in dramatic fashion. the flaps of the cargo pockets and chest and sides are cut at an angle which add dimension and an off kilter sensibility, and their facings are cut from the same fleece material as the inner lining. very complex construction happening around the waist, with removable buttoned beltloops (the side beltloops are slightly longer and feature 2-tier buttonholes for varying adjustment lengths, all keyhole buttonholes), pocket flaps sewn underneath the double welt to protrude out from the inside (flaps can be tucked away for a subdued look), double compartments (pocket-in-pocket), and a bagged out construction with a button adjustable, two-tier 'darted' shape. the interior features a full fleece lining which hugs the body and gently supports the outer structure of the garment, and the sleeves are finished in the classic silky smooth cupro with unmatched quality. other finishing details include wide set topstitching at the seamlines across the shoulder, back, and sleeve seams, which in particular are lined up perfectly with the scalpular back darts reinforced by a high density satin-like strip of fabric also seen at the inner sleeve and front neck darts. beautiful patination of the metal hardware throughout. they simply don't make clothes like this anymore. tagged size 1 (extra small - a rare size for yohji menswear), but fits like a regular small. also recommended for slim mediums.
