oversized tailored jacket in heavyweight wool. garment dyed a rich shade of warm medium grey. features a rolled notch lapel front that allows the jacket to be worn as a 2, 3, or 4 button style. boxy cut with dropped shoulders and a straight buttom hem. outer chest pockets and a back waist panel in contrast wool that takes the dye differently. features deep side pockets and zipped inner chest pockets. partially lined interior with upper back in silk and unlined sleeves.
notes overdyed wool can be difficult to manage in production and are thereby not seen too often, making this a special and rare item with beautiful depth of color. the white horn buttons have also absorbed the dye for an opaque ashy texture with gorgeous variation. the silk lining is a discrete, luxurious touch felt by the wearer only. the boxy proportions of this jacket allow for heavy layering underneath. tagged size 2 (small) but fits quite large and boxy, recommended for size medium or large.
for a few years beginning with the a/w 03 season, y's for men collections were shown alongside mainline pour homme collections on the runway as a capsule collection of sorts that synergized and integrated with the overarching seasonal mood. the a/w 03 "pimp" collection featured y's for men looks with a strong military edge in heavy woolens processed with special overdye and fulling treatments. see the looks from the full collection here.
