a standout piece from the a/w 01 collection which featured the first ever down items to have been released under the y's for men label. the range included short down blousons to hooded coats, all with the same motif of a vibrant interior lining in contrast red and orange. captured in st. petersburg, russia by max vadukul, the collection as a whole carries a nuanced soviet sensibility, with items evocative of military surplus or a treasured market find in elevated fabrications and construction. exceptionally warm with vertical and v-shaped baffling throughout, the lambswool collar can also be worn up for added protection in cold weather. dressing for function in winter can sometimes sacrifice style, but this item offers both and lends well to layered wear with pops of color. while not technically intended for reversed wear, it can be styled as such. with very generous proportions true to an x-large, i would recommend this item for size larges and up.
